Home > RecreationState Wildlife Management Areas in the Finger LakesThere are more than two dozen state wildlife management areas (WMAs) in the Finger Lakes. These areas exist for the benefit of wildlife, however, they are open to the public without charge. Things to Remember1. Many of these areas are in locations were cell/mobile phones do not work, however, you should always bring a cell/mobile phone in cases of an emergency. 2. Bring plenty of water. 3. It's easy to get lost in an unfamiliar place. Bring a compass or a GPS. Take a reading when you start out so you can get back to that point. 4. Stay on trails whenever possible. 5.
