The Hammondsport Depot at the southern end of Keuka Lake was once a railroad depot. It is now used by the Village of Hammondsport for its administrative offices. The Newfield Covered Bridge in Newfield, New York was built in 1853 and is the oldest covered bridge still in use in the state. The Landing in Pultneyville, New York has a restaurant and shops. The Pultneyville Yacht Club is nearby and provides access to Lake Ontario.

Catharine Marsh at the southern end of Seneca Lake is named for Catharine Montour, a local Indian chieftess. The marsh is a great place to watch birds. The Catharine Valley Trail runs through the marsh along Catharine Creek. Brockport, New York is a village on the Erie Canal. You can moor your boat here while using the facilities of the Welcome Center or checking out the local shops. The farmer's market sells fresh fruits and vegetables here on Sundays during the summer. Spencerport, New York is another port on the Erie Canal. It is a pleasant village with many interesting shops.

The gates of Lock 30 along the Erie Canal opens to let a boat in. The Camillus Aqueduct in the Camillus Erie Canal Park in Camillus, New York was a water-filled bridge that carried boats over Nine-Mile Creek. The aqueduct is being rebuilt and will allow kayaking and canoeing along the canal.
