Finally, other highways and byways can provide you with a scenic trip, you just need to get out and explore, join a club, or sign up for a guided tour.

¶ The Inn-to-Inn touring project along the Erie Canalway Trail presents bike riders with a planned trip along the state's premier historical and recreational trail with accommodations available at lovely bed and breakfasts and country inns. The Seaway Trail--a 454-mile route paralleling Lake Erie, the Niagara River, Lake Ontario, and the St. Lawrence River.

¶ The Central Destinations of the Finger Lakes Region offers a free 32-page brochure with maps of hiking trails and on-road biking trips.

¶ The Northern Tier Bike Route is a cross-country route running from Bar Harbor, Maine to Anacortes, Washington. In the process, the route crosses through the northern section of the Finger Lakes, skirting along Lake Ontario and incorporating a portion of the Erie Canal Trail.
