Set in lovely old creamery, the Historical Society's exhibits concentrate on life in Skaneateles. Learn about the boats and canoes that formerly plied Skaneateles Lake, how wool was fulled, and how the creamery was used. Numerous artifacts. The Creamery is just a few block from the lake.

Erie Canal Museum

Learn the history of the Erie Canal. Full-size replica of a line boat, weighmaster's office, mid-1800s canalside tavern, general store, stonecutter's shed, 19th century theater stage. The Uniquely Syracuse Room honors local business people, inventors and innovators. Displays discuss Stickley furniture, candlemaking, Syracuse China, brewing, lacrosse and more. Museum shop.

International Mask and Puppet Museum

Giant puppets and masks, hand puppets, rod puppets, marionettes, and tiny finger puppets. Ancient, historical, and contemporary fine and folk art. Puppet theaters, folk toys, and musical instruments from around the world. Mask, dance, and puppet shows. In the same building as the Open Hand Theater. Both are located in the historic building called The Castle, which is described in detail on their Web site.

Jamesville Community Museum

Located in the former St. Mark's Episcopal Church, built in 1878, which the museum purchased for $1.00, concentrates on local history. It's two main exhibits are a 15-foot diorama depicting the Solvay Process and the raw materials for the process, which come from this area (on “permanent loan” from the New York State Museum in Albany), and a noteworthy collection of local and New York State minerals.

Liverpool Willow Museum

The history of willow growing and willow basketry as practiced in the region in the 19th and 20th centuries. The museum is on the grounds of the Lucius Gleason House (historic places\Lucius Gleason House), which is on the National Register of Historic Places.

Manlius Historical Society Museum

The museum has permanent displays as well as a rotating exhibits. Attached to the museum is an authentic working blacksmith shop and an authentic non-working outhouse. The Society also owns the Cheney House at 109 Pleasant St., which houses the Society's library, photograph collection, maps, and files.

The museum, located on the shore of Onondaga Lake, is full of dynamic exhibits and artifacts. Constructed from timbers taken from actual salt warehouses, it provides an old time rustic experience. Explore the site of an original boiling iblock where brine (salt water) was turned into what was then considered one of the country's most precious commodities. See the actual kettles, wooden barrels, and other equipment that were used in this fascinating process which came to an end in the 1920s.

Stone Arabia Schoolhouse Museum & Block House Museum / Town of Cicero Historical Society

Stone Arabia is a one-room schoolhouse (1854-1951) with original furnishings. The cedar Block House was built in the early 1800s and was once a restaurant. It displays Cicero artifacts, especially farm implements.

Tully Historical Society Museum

Housed in a former Baptist Church built in 1825, the Society's museum has local artifacts and a research library.

Wilcox Octagon House

Built in 1856, this lovely octagon house has 8 square rooms and 8 triangular rooms plus a cupola. It is home to the Camillus Historical Society.
