Hostels in the Finger Lakes

Unlike Europe where hostels and gites are common, there are only three hostels and no gites in the Finger Lakes. All hostels are in the northern half of the region. You are advised by one hostel owner to call in advance to make reservations rather than to arrive on the doorstep unannounced only to be disappointed.
