Harriet Tubman Home for the Aged (Harriet Tubman Museum)

This house museum features the life of Harriet Tubman (1820-1913), abolitionist, humanitarian. Tubman originally lived in the house and then used it as a home for the poor and elderly. The house is on the National Register of Historic Places and the New York State Underground Railroad Heritage Trail. 

Howland Stone Store Museum

Owned by the Friends of the Howland Stone Store, this lovely cobblestone building acts as a record of its role in the Underground Railroad and safeguards the possessions and memorabilia of previous owners. The building is on the National Register of Historic Places and on the State's Underground Railroad Heritage Trail.

The Little Red School House Museum

Home of the Sterling Historical Society, this two-story schoolhouse is on the National Register of Historic Places. Displays include a barber shop, general store, an early farm kitchen, and other items of local interest. The museum also has on display a fine collection of railroad lanterns, a model railroad, and the only railway signal tower in the state.

William H. Seward House

This house museum depicts the life and times of abolitionist and former secretary of state William Henry Seward (1801-1872) and his family. Seward was the leading proponent of the Alaska Purchase and one of the founders of the Republican Party. The house is on the National Register of Historic Places and the New York State Underground Railroad Heritage Trail.
