A Different Pesto

From Lucas Vineyards

A special pasta dish with a glass of Lucas Vineyards Riesling.



Serves 10

½ cup parsley

1½ cups fresh basil

14 cloves garlic (yes, 14!)

1 cup olive oil

½ cup Riesling wine

¼ cup pine nuts

pinch salt


Place parsley, basil, and garlic cloves in a food processor fitted with a steel blade. Turn on processor and add olive oil in a steady stream through the feed tube.


Add wine, pine nuts, and salt; process until smooth.


Makes 1½ cups of pesto.


Toss with favorite pasta.


Per serving: 230 calories; 23g fat (91% calories from fat); 2g protein; 3 g carbohydrates; 0mg cholesterol; 15mg sodium
