First Fridays in the Finger Lakes
First Fridays are monthly evening openings of art galleries and museums in a number of the cities in the Finger Lakes. These are public events, usually with free admission and often with free food and drink as well.
The concept of First Fridays was thought to have started in the United States in the late 1980s and was popular in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania by 1991. The concept of late-night get-togethers at art galleries and museums is now popular worldwide.
