One of the nicest places in the village is the public library, and it's open to the public. It is an architecturally interesting building that was built in 1889. It is now filled with books and other reading and listening materials. The entire second floor is dedicated to children's materials. The librarian is friendly and can show you their doll collection. Stop in and say hello.
Right next to the library is the village park. With its shaded picnic areas, it makes a nice place to sit and eat lunch before or after exploring the village.
The Town of Addison offers a wide variety of recreational opportunities through a state-owned park and a state-owed forest. Together they comprise roughly 1,500 acres of outdoor recreational space. Pinnacle State Park has a 9-hole golf course and miles of hiking and cross-country ski trails. McCarthy Hill State Forest borders Pinnacle State Park and is well known for its cross-country skiing through peaceful groves of hemlock and oak.
