The premier race track in the Finger Lakes is Watkins Glen International, commonly called "The Glen." The idea of Cameron Argetsinger, it has changed considerably since the first race in 1948 when it wound through the streets of downtown Watkins Glen. Today car racing is enormously popular, thanks in good part to Cameron Argetsinger, and big business.
