LeMoyne College LogoLe Moyne College: Building Lives for Leadership and Service

Le Moyne College, located on a scenic 150-acre campus in Syracuse, N.Y., is an independent college established by the Catholic Jesuits in 1946 to provide students with a values-based, comprehensive academic program designed to foster intellectual excellence and preparation for a life of leadership and service. Today, Le Moyne has evolved into a nationally acclaimed college of liberal arts and sciences that draws students from across the U.S. and abroad.

With a full-time undergraduate enrollment of nearly 2,400 students, Le Moyne offers students a top-quality educational experience notable for its breadth in the liberal arts, its commitment to excellence, and a faculty who are wholly committed to their roles as teachers, mentors and advisors. Le Moyne’s student-to-teacher ratio of 14:1 and its average class size of 22 assure personal attention for every student and lots of opportunities for dialogue in and out of the classroom.

Academic Offerings

Le Moyne’s academic offerings include more than 40 programs in the humanities, sciences, nursing, business and education. In addition to Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees, Le Moyne offers master’s degrees in business administration, education and physician assistant studies. Internships, international study programs and service opportunities provide a real-world context for learning and career development; and the Center for Continuing Education offers evening classes for those wishing to pursue their degree on a part-time basis.

Outside the Classroom

Outside the classroom, more than 60 campus clubs offer students a wide choice of activities. For those interested in the performing arts, the W. Carroll Coyne Center for the Performing Arts features generous production, performance and classroom space; first-rate light and sound technology; scene and costume shops; a dance studio; and rehearsal rooms for instrumental and choral music. In athletics, Le Moyne fields 16 men’s and women’s varsity sports teams, including Division I baseball and women’s lacrosse; and the popular recreation center houses, among other things, an indoor pool; jogging track; tennis, volleyball and racquetball courts; and a fitness center.

Le Moyne is located in a residential neighborhood on the east side of Syracuse – the geographic center of New York state. In addition to cultural offerings – including a professional theater and symphony, an art museum and thriving shopping districts – the Syracuse area offers a wealth of opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts, including Green Lakes State Park beach, Beaver Lake Nature Center, and Highland Forest County Park, which offers some of the best cross-country skiing in the region.
