There are five bed and breakfasts in Chemung County. If you've never stayed at a bed and breakfast before, you will find them welcoming and relaxing. They provide all linens. (You will not be expected to bring towels or sheets as in a hostel.) Many bed and breakfasts in the Finger Lakes now take reservations on-line and some offer a discount for stays of three days or more.

Here are some questions you should ask when inquiring about accommodations at a bed and breakfast in the Finger Lakes:

• Do you have a minimum number of nights you require guests to stay?
• Do you allow smoking?
• Do you allow pets?
• Do you allow children?
• Is your bed and breakfast directly on the lake or just nearby? If you're nearby, is there public access to the lake? Is there a beach, a dock for boats, etc?
• What type of breakfast do you serve?
• Can you accommodate special dietary requirements?
• What are the check-in and check-out times?
• What entertainment is nearby?
• Do you have computer access or hook-up?
